Meetings

Branch Meetings are held the second Saturday of each month (EXCEPT July and August and January) at 1:00 PM - at the Board Room of the North Bay Public Library, 271 Worthington Street East, North Bay, Ontario.

Membership

Anyone joining a branch of The Ontario Genealogical Society must also join the Provincial organization. Memberships should be submitted to the Provincial OGS office. Charitable receipts can only be issued by the Provincial office.


Nipissing Branch membership fees are:

Individual........ $10.00 plus applicable OGS fee
Family .......... $10.00 plus applicable OGS fee
Institution....... $10.00 plus applicable OGS fee

Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid

All Nipissing District Cemeteries have been transcribed and an index of names is available on the "Ontario Cemetery Finding Aid" web page.

To see if your ancestor's name appears in our transcripts you can search the OCFA home page for further information.

If you find an ancestor in the OCFA indexes and would like further information, you can purchase a copy of the cemetery transcript from our publications page or submit a research request.

Branch Library

The Nipissing Branch Library is located in the Joan Duquette Room on the second floor of the North Bay Public Library. The Library is staffed on a voluntary basis by members of our branch.


Our hours are Wednesday to Friday: 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. and Saturday: 1:00 to 3:00 p.m.


The Public Library's schedule takes precedence over our hours. We are closed on statutory holidays. To confirm the Public Library's hours call the North Bay Public Library at (705) 474-4830
